Ivana has worked as a Speech Pathologist since 1999. In that time, she has worked primarily with children with various disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Her main focus and area of experience is in early intervention with children aged 0-6 years. She is passionate about seeing genuine and sustained change in development for children with ASD, and working collaboratively with parents to be better able to support their children’s development. She is certified in various communication programs, including Makaton and Hanen More Than Words. Since completing her Certification in mid-2009, she is now focusing specifically on Relationship Development Intervention ® (RDI®) for remediating key areas of difficulty for children with ASD. She has seen significant changes in children’s motivation to engage and interact with others, in their desire to communicate and in their availability to learn. These improvements are also a critical first step in tackling the speech and language delays that are so often present. Ivana provides services to the Southside of Brisbane area, as home or office visits. Daycare and school visits can also be arranged, in the form of child observations, consultation with staff or information sessions. She also sees liaising with other services families may be linked with as an important aspect of providing a holistic and effective service. Claims for RDI® through Ivana’s Speech Pathology services can be made through the Medicare Enhanced Primary Care Plan for Allied Health, the Helping Children with Autism Medicare rebates for Allied Health and most Private Health Insurance schemes. Ivana is providing services through Connect and Relate for Autism Inc - a FaHCSIA-approved Provider of Autism Intervention Services.
