Their children show a strong desire to take greater responsibility in their daily lives and to be curious.
Increase access to early intervention:
RDI® will assist to increase access to early intervention as it is a consultant guided parent programme that aims to provide parents with the tools so that they can give their children opportunities for success and Remediation.
RDI® improves the ability for families to independently carry on the process of intervention without the presence of the consultant guide, which ultimately increases parent’s access as they are able to engage in the intervention everyday and anywhere.
RDI® programs are supported with a comprehensive online system that allows a continuous interactive relationship between the parents and their consultant guide and provides for the consultation, planning and guiding of the parent work, and the feedback and review of their work with their child.
RDI® is available for families in regional, remote and rural areas, with consultation and guiding being conducted through online education, live sessions and video reviews.

Parents who participate in the RDI® program are reporting dramatic changes, with couples reporting a significant reduction in conflicts and stresses related to the child.
Parents feel more hopeful and less fearful about what the future holds.
They feel a decreased need to act as a buffer and advocate for the child.
They perceive their children as engaging more in planned thoughtful action and see a significant increase in their ability to generate productive creative ideas and responses that provide a rich learning environment for their child.
Improve the capability of children to attend formal school and participate in everyday life:
Preliminary research accepted for publication in the Journal of Autism and Developmental disorders, has highlighted RDI® treatment effectiveness with research demonstrating that children with ASD undergoing RDI® for a minimum of 8 months demonstrated a significant reduction in core autism symptoms, as measured by the Autism Diagnostic Observation Scales. Following an average of 16 months of treatment, over 50% of children no longer met the ADOS criteria for autism spectrum disorders.
RDI® treated children were also significantly more likely to function without support in typical classrooms and to respond to unplanned changes in a flexible, emotionally positive manner.
The value, quality and quantity of your early intervention service:
Parents are trained to function as effective coaches to their children, the need for ancillary support staff is significantly reduced and Parents become the Case Manager and Guide for their child. This provides a cost effective method for the Remediation Process leading to a reduction of the impact of Autism for the child and the family.
Parental success increases their sense of competence and empowerment and allows for easier generalisation of program principles into every moment of the family’s daily life. This is a cost effective form of Intervention that removes the ‘Outsourcing’ factor for families and empowers them directly to become the agents of change for their person who has autism.
